Senior Data Engineer ($800k)

My client is one of the most prestigious and successful quantitative hedge funds in the world and they are hiring for a Senior Data Engineer to join their team in Miami.

YOU MUST BE ABLE TO RELOCATE TO MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOR THIS ROLE.

They are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who will own several datasets that will be used by Quantitative Researchers and Traders for trading and research purposes.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of Data Engineering experience.

• You are ideally coming from a Technology or Quantitative Finance firm.

• Excellent ETL, data manipulation, data pipelines, query design and optimization experience.

• Strong Python, SQL, DBT, and Cloud experience.

• Ability to work with stakeholders and communicate needs across groups.

• You hopefully have exposure to the newest advancements in AI and Machine Learning such as large language models, RAGs and/or deep learning (NLP, vision, speech, signal processing, scientific computing).

• PhD or Masters in a related field.

Compensation

• $600,000 - $900,000+ Total Compensation depending on level of experience.

What's the Job?

• You will be working within a centralized data team that is supporting teams of Quantitative Researchers and Quantitative Traders who are deploying high-frequency to medium-frequency strategies.

• Design, create, automate and own internal data pipeline systems along with other related Data Engineering functions.

• You will be the owner of many large datasets, each with their own delivery frequency and schemas that you will be responsible for.

• Monitor data for quality and provided fixes as needed.

• Create performance schemas and queries, extract data, clean and normalize data sets, and load datasets for use by the Quants,

Location

This role requires you to work out of their Miami office five days a week. They do cover relocation expenses if you are looking to move.
