Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
As a talented Software Test Automation Engineer, we want you to help us fulfil our mission by enabling our engineering teams to build, test and deploy reliable and secure software using state-of-the-art CI/CD techniques.
Key Responsibilities
In your capacity as a Software Test Automation Engineer, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day, your duties will include:
- Automate CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab CI) to enable fast and reliable software releases.
- Develop automated workflows for code quality checks, testing, and deployment across multiple projects.
- Configure and manage repositories, branching strategies, and code review workflows in Git-based systems.
- Set up and maintain developer environments (e.g., Coder, Docker-based setups, or similar) to ensure consistency and ease of onboarding.
- Design and implement automation workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define best practices for repository structure, version control, and continuous integration.
- Continuously improve test processes, tools, and methodologies.
In the role of a Software Test Automation Engineer, ideally, you will have the following:
- 3+ years of experience in software testing, automation or a related role.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., PyTest, Playwright).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins).
- Familiarity with developer environments (e.g., Coder, Docker-based setups).
- Familiarity with workflow engines (e.g., Argo Workflows).
- Knowledge of tools such as Terraform and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.
