Senior Data Engineer - Cloud Native Architecture

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead the modernization of our data ecosystem. You will play a key role in migrating legacy on-premise ETL systems to a cloud-native architecture, building robust data pipelines in Databricks, Delta Lake, and AWS/Azure/GCP.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes in Databricks and cloud-based data platforms.
• Lead lift & shift initiatives, migrating existing Pentaho ETL jobs, on-premise data pipelines, and reporting workflows to cloud-native architectures.
• Build and optimize Medallion layer in a Delta Lake / Lakehouse architecture for marketing and customer analytics data.
• Automate data quality, validation, and monitoring for all pipelines, ensuring reliability and performance at scale.
• Participate in solution architecture discussions, providing input on technology selection, performance, and resource optimization.
• Opportunity to mentor junior engineers and shape data engineering best practices.

WHO YOU ARE

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in marketing or customer analytics contexts.
• Strong expertise in ETL/ELT processes and data migration strategies.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark, Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Strong expertise in ETL/ELT processes and data migration strategies
• Experience with legacy ETL tools like Pentaho, Informatica, or SSIS & Airflow, dbt, or other orchestration frameworks is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and big data architectures.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ideally experience in the User Tracking and analytics in e-commerce environment.
• Experience with Power BI, Looker, or other BI/reporting tools.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in working with cross-functional teams and collaboration with data scientists, analysts.
