About The Role

We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This fully remote role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a forward-looking organization that is pioneering cloud-based solutions. As an AWS DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing cloud applications within a sophisticated AWS environment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including development, QA, and operations will be crucial in this role, as you translate business requirements into technical solutions that align with organizational goals.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in AWS development or related fields, demonstrating a robust understanding of cloud architecture and DevOps practices. Strong proficiency with core AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and DynamoDB is essential, along with experience in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Candidates should have a solid background in CI/CD pipelines, utilizing tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Docker to streamline deployment processes. Advanced scripting skills in TypeScript or JavaScript are required, with additional experience in languages like Go considered a plus. AWS certifications or equivalent credentials are highly desirable, reflecting a commitment to professional development and expertise in cloud technologies. Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills are vital for success in this role, along with the ability to work effectively within Agile teams and adhere to best coding practices.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with development, quality assurance, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration, deployment, and maintenance of applications.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues promptly as part of incident response efforts, minimizing downtime.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of architectures, configurations, and operational processes to support ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing.
  • Apply design patterns to promote code reusability, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Develop and execute unit tests, adhering to test-driven development (TDD) principles to ensure code quality and reliability.
