Description
SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer/Fires SME, with Operational Joint Fires experience, that is passionate about mobile platforms and mobile development. They will be working with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation mobile applications for the United States Marine Corps. The application will support a handheld ground fires / close air support, Program of Record, software suite designed to make it easier for Marines to do their job effectively and reduce human errors. This position is 100% Remote.
The Systems Engineer/Fires SME will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Develop products that help software engineering teams architect, design, and build advanced applications for the Android
- Directly engage with software Product Owner (software team lead) to shape and prioritize development tasks
- Identify operational requirements and translate them into software development tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, designs and new features
- Work as an agile team member on a Scrum team
- Lead event support efforts; ensure the system and capabilities are appropriately integrated into events such as Bold Quest, Island Marauder, WTI, etc. Also ensure the assigned team understands the event concept of support and all aspects of the event are appropriately resourced.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years' experience; additional four (4) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance ; ship required.
- Recent experience and proficiency with Fires digital systems such as Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) and dismounted fire supports systems such as Strike Link or PFED
- Recent experience and proficiency with Marine Corps fielded radios (117F, 117G and 152A) and setting up tactical communications networks
- Experience with military maps/imagery and methods for obtaining geographic coordinates
- Recent military experience in ground fire support and digitally aided close air support
- Advanced operational knowledge and troubleshooting of Android based handheld devices
- Experience with military training and training development
- Able to work independently and efficiently with short term deadlines
- Willingness to travel (25-50%)
- Experience in developing training materials
- Experience with DI2E developer tools, especially JIRA and Zephyr
- Familiarization with the Agile development process
- Proficiency with Gusto Air
