Title of Role: Senior Platform Engineer

Location: New York City (Hybrid)

Company Stage of Funding: Series A

Office Type: Hybrid (4 days onsite weekly; 3 days onsite if commuting >1 hour)

Salary: $190,000 - $260,000 + Equity + Benefits

Company Description

Our client is a fast-growing, VC-backed healthcare technology company using AI and large-scale data systems to improve patient safety and care quality across the U.S. Their platform already supports hundreds of thousands of clinicians and processes millions of clinical sessions each year. With strong market traction, top-tier investor backing, and ambitious growth plans, this is an opportunity to join a mission-driven team working to transform healthcare operations at national scale.

Engineers joining at this stage will work on deeply impactful challenges—scaling AI-driven workflows, building automation systems, and architecting the infrastructure that will support several hundred million patient interactions annually.

What You Will Do

  • Design, build, and scale highly available, fault-tolerant systems on AWS to support rapid product growth.
  • Develop and implement AI-powered workflows and automation tools that improve clinical data processing.
  • Collaborate closely with product and data science teams to translate technical and business requirements into high-impact engineering solutions.
  • Drive meaningful ownership of major platform components, from architectural decisions to implementation.
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and knowledge sharing.
  • Continuously optimize performance, reliability, and scalability as the platform grows from millions to hundreds of millions of annual interactions.

Ideal Candidate Background

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in high-growth or early-stage startup environments.
  • Prior success building and scaling data-intensive systems or large distributed platforms.
  • Strong ownership mindset with a track record of leading projects end-to-end.
  • Experience designing and maintaining AWS-based infrastructure (ECS, Lambda, Postgres).
  • Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
  • Comfortable working closely with cross-functional partners and contributing to architectural direction.
  • Excited by the opportunity to work onsite with a tight-knit, fast-moving engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with machine learning systems, AI workflows, or large language models (LLMs).
  • Background in healthcare, life sciences, or health data platforms.
  • Experience mentoring or leveling up less-experienced engineers.
  • Familiarity with data-heavy, compliance-driven industries.

Compensation, Benefits & Additional Information

  • Salary: $190,000 - $260,000 base
  • Equity: Meaningful equity in a scaling AI healthcare company
  • Benefits: Competitive medical, dental, vision, and other standard benefits
  • Work Policy: Hybrid schedule with 4 days onsite (or 3 days onsite for candidates with longer commutes)
  • Visa: Sponsorship available for certain visa categories (e.g., TN).
  • Relocation: Up to $2,000 relocation support available for candidates moving to New York City

This is an exceptional role for engineers who want to do deep technical work, shape the architecture of a high-growth AI platform, and contribute to technology that directly improves patient care across the country.
