Job Description


A fast-growing Ukrainian e-commerce company is working in partnership with GRS Recruitment to hire an experienced and highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join their team on a fully remote basis. This role is open exclusively to candidates residing in Cyprus and offers the opportunity to take ownership of their on-premises infrastructure while contributing to the design and evolution of a modern, production-grade Kubernetes platform. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • On-premises infrastructure ownership: Together with company DevOps team design, deploy, and maintain production-grade Kubernetes clusters on bare metal infrastructure for greenfield microservices platform manage capacity planning, scaling strategies, and infrastructure lifecycle.
  • Observability and reliability: Build comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting infrastructure using Grafana Stack and VictoriaMetrics; implement distributed tracing with OpenTelemetry;
  • GitOps and automation: Implement GitOps workflows using ArgoCD/Flux for declarative infrastructure and application deployments; manage infrastructure as code with Terraform; build robust CI/CD pipelines in GitLab; automate repetitive operational tasks and establish self-service capabilities for developers.
  • Security and operational excellence: Implement and maintain security controls for Kubernetes clusters; manage secrets, certificates, and access policies; conduct infrastructure audits; optimize system performance and resource utilization; participate in on-call rotation for infrastructure incidents.


CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps/SRE roles managing production systems
  • Strong Kubernetes experience: cluster administration, deployment strategies, troubleshooting, and security hardening
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for on-premises infrastructure provisioning
  • Practical experience with GitOps methodology and tools (ArgoCD or Flux) for continuous delivery
  • Proficiency with observability stack: Grafana, Loki, Tempo, and VictoriaMetrics for metrics, logs, and traces
  • Deep understanding of containerization with Docker and Helm charts
  • Networking expertise: TCP/IP, DNS, load balancers, ingress controllers, network policies
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred) and automation workflows
  • Native Ukrainian speaker


Nice to have:

  • Experience with service mesh implementations (Istio, Linkerd) in production environments
  • Knowledge of message brokers (Kafka, NATS) deployment and operations
  • Experience managing stateful applications in Kubernetes (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
  • Familiarity with secrets management solutions (Vault, External Secrets Operator, Sealed Secrets)
  • Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing
  • Understanding of disaster recovery and backup strategies for on-premises infrastructure
  • Experience with multi-tenant Kubernetes architectures
  • Understanding of security best practices for Kubernetes and infrastructure
