THE ROLE
We're looking for a DevOps Engineer who can own cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines while growing into full-stack contributions alongside the team. Your primary focus will be DevOps, but you'll have opportunities to learn and contribute across our technology stack as you become familiar with the codebase.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who's curious, eager to expand their skillset, and interested in working with AI-assisted development tools.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Infrastructure & DevOps (Primary Focus)
- Build and maintain AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch)
- Set up and optimize CI/CD pipelines for microservices architecture
- Deploy and manage Kubernetes workloads (EKS)
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
- Automate deployment processes and infrastructure provisioning
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance
- Document infrastructure decisions and operational procedures
Development Contributions (Growth Area)
- Learn and contribute to backend services using Java Spring Boot
- Gradually pick up frontend work with React
- Support mobile app development with React Native over time
- Collaborate on API integrations and microservices architecture
- Use AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code) to accelerate learning
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
YOU SHOULD HAVE
DevOps & Infrastructure (Required)
- 3+ years hands-on DevOps/infrastructure experience
- Strong AWS expertise (EC2, RDS, IAM, networking, S3)
- Production experience with Kubernetes (EKS strongly preferred)
- Solid CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
- Comfortable with Docker containerization
- Linux system administration and Bash scripting
- Git workflow proficiency
Development Foundation (Nice to Have)
- Basic understanding of backend development (Java, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks)
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or similar)
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices patterns
- Experience with MongoDB or NoSQL databases
- Willingness to learn is more important than expertise

- Genuine interest in expanding beyond traditional DevOps into full-stack engineering
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools to learn new technologies
