Software Engineers – Wireless PHY (Senior & Principal)

Southampton (Hybrid 2–3 days/week) | £70k–£100k + Bonus + Equity + Sponsorship

You’ll be building and optimising real-time software that sits directly in the physical layer of advanced wireless systems — the part where latency, throughput and correctness actually matter.


What you’ll work on

  • High-performance C/C++ on x86 or ARM
  • Real-time PHY signal-processing implementations
  • Optimising hot code paths using SIMD/vectorisation
  • High-performance APIs for hardware-accelerated paths (Linux, PCIe, DPDK)
  • Collaboration with DSP, FPGA and systems teams
  • Software that ships into real 4G/5G and satcom deployments


Who this is for

Engineers with prior experience in wireless Layer-1 / PHY development, such as:

  • OFDM/MIMO algorithms
  • Channel estimation/equalisation
  • LDPC, Polar or turbo coding
  • ORAN Split 7.2, FAPI/LLS
  • Real-time DSP implementations
  • Low-latency C/C++ in hardware-adjacent systems


Senior roles focus on delivery and optimisation;

Principal roles add technical leadership and architectural responsibility.
