Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Linux Identity Engineer to design, implement, and maintain identity and access management solutions for Linux environments. This role is critical for ensuring secure authentication, authorization, and compliance across enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Linux IAM, directory integration, and automation, along with excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain authentication and authorization solutions for Linux systems
  • Integrate Linux environments with LDAP and Active Directory using PAM, NSS, and SSSD
  • Manage policy-based logins and access controls using UNIX netgroups
  • Configure privileged access using sudo and integrate with groups/netgroups
  • Implement Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions using SAML, OAuth, and OpenID
  • Integrate and manage RADIUS and MFA for Linux systems
  • Administer Ping Directory Services (PingID experience is a plus)
  • Develop and maintain API integrations with third-party services
  • Automate IAM tasks using scripting (bash or similar)
  • Manage code and configurations in GitHub repositories, including batch jobs and pipelines
  • Create architecture and process documentation
  • Develop reports and dashboards for IAM monitoring
  • Provide operational support and troubleshoot identity-related issues
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux identity and access management
  • Strong knowledge of Kerberos, LDAP, PAM, NSS, and SSSD
  • Experience with UNIX netgroups and policy-based access controls
  • Proficiency in SSO protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID)
  • Familiarity with MFA integration and RADIUS
  • Hands-on experience with Ping Directory Services
  • Strong scripting skills (bash or similar)
  • Experience with GitHub and DevOps practices for code/configuration management
  • Ability to create reports and dashboards for IAM processes
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
