We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented, and collaborative Network Engineer to join our remote team in Ireland. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain robust network infrastructures that ensure reliability, security, and high performance across our systems and services.
๐ฏ Key Responsibilities- Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless solutions
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot latency, connectivity, or security issues
- Implement network security best practices to protect data, systems, and infrastructure
- Manage network upgrades, patching, and optimization projects
- Collaborate with IT, Security, Cloud, and DevOps teams to support cross-functional initiatives
- Conduct network capacity planning and ensure redundancy and disaster recovery measures
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and configuration records
- Support incident response and participate in on-call rotations where required
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to enhance network efficiency
- 3+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN systems (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar)
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, etc.)
- Solid understanding of network security principles
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience working in a remote or distributed environment
- Must be based in Ireland with full working rights
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies
- Familiarity with automation or scripting (Python, Bash, Ansible)
- Understanding of VoIP, load balancers, or network virtualization (VLAN, VXLAN, NFV)
- Fully remote role within Ireland
