Job Description
For our European Location in Offenbach am Main (Frankfurt am Main) we are looking for a:
Cloud Platform Engineer (f/m/d)
Join our Cloud Section as a Cloud Platform Engineer and help with designing, deploying, operating, and optimizing cloud platforms across private (OpenStack) and public (AWS) cloud environments. This role involves managing virtualization, compute, and storage infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and operate OpenStack-based private cloud infrastructure, including management of Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, etc.
- Deploy and manage AWS cloud workloads, including EC2, S3, VPC, etc., and related services
- Manage x86 server infrastructure (Dell, HP) and virtualization environments (KVM)
- Design, configure, and operate enterprise storage solutions (HP, NetApp) integrated with cloud platforms
- Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and operations using Ansible, Terraform, Python, AWS CDK, and CloudFormation
- Monitor cloud platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize costs and efficiency
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and management
- Proven, hands-on experience with OpenStack or similar private cloud (IaaS) platforms
- Proven, hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
- Proven, hands-on experience in managing x86 server hardware and virtualization (KVM)
- Strong expertise in Linux system administration (RockyLinux, CentOS, RHEL)
- Strong expertise in automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and scripting languages (Python, ShellScript)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Collaborative and team-oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Experience with hybrid cloud architectures
- Knowledge of networking concepts related to cloud
- Knowledge of cloud security and compliance standards
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect
