Job Description
This is a remote position.
Intecfy is hiring a Ruby on Rails Developer - Freelance - 100% Remote from Europe. Our client is a digital product company based in Cyprus who is building a next-gen accounting platform tailored for the unique needs of local businesses in a market largely overlooked by global software providers.
This is a remote freelance role for a developer who can work autonomously, bring strong backend fundamentals and collaborate smoothly with product teams. You’ll also mentor and support a junior developer as part of a small, agile team already shipping code and iterating fast.
Resposibilities
- Build and maintain core features using Ruby on Rails
- Implement UI interactivity using Hotwire and styling with Tailwind CSS
- Manage data flows and logic in PostgreSQL
- Handle background jobs via Sidekiq
- Integrate secure authentication and roles (Devise, CanCanCan)
- Participate in agile rituals: stand-ups, retros, sprint planning
- Work closely with the lead engineer and product manager
- Mentor and support a junior developer through code reviews and guidance
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Ruby on Rails
- Solid knowledge of JavaScript and Frontend frameworks
- Strong database experience with PostgreSQL
- Familiar with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
- Previous experience mentoring junior developers
- Based in Europe (±2h CET), self-driven and good communicator
- English, minimum B2 Level is required
- Prior freelance/startup experience
- Familiarity with B2B products or accounting/fintech systems
- Understanding of background processing and asynchronous architecture
- Type: Freelance (B2B)
- Day rate: Competitive, based on experience
- 40 hours per week work
- 1 year contract with posibility of extension
- Location: Remote from Europe
