About The Role

We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join our client's expanding team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This fully remote position offers a unique opportunity to work within a forward-thinking organization that is at the forefront of cloud technology. As an AWS DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing cloud-based applications within a sophisticated AWS environment. Your role will involve ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of complex systems, working collaboratively with development, quality assurance, and operations teams to deliver high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS services, infrastructure-as-code, and automation, with a passion for creating efficient, scalable, and secure cloud architectures.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in AWS development or related fields. Strong expertise across various AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and DynamoDB is essential, along with proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Candidates should have a solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Docker. Advanced scripting skills in TypeScript or JavaScript are required, with additional experience in languages like Go being advantageous. AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer, are highly desirable, demonstrating your commitment to professional development and expertise in cloud technologies. Excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in Agile environments are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, high-performance solutions on AWS, focusing on robust architecture and efficient code practices.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize AWS resources to enhance performance, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices and ensure compliance standards are met across all AWS environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues as part of incident response efforts, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of architectures, configurations, and operational processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and future improvements.
  • Apply design patterns to promote code reusability, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Develop and execute unit tests following test-driven development (TDD) principles to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring project goals are achieved efficiently and effectively.
