Automation Engineer (DevOps/Puppet)


Job Title: Senior Automation Engineer (DevOps/Puppet) - Long-Term Contract | Remote (EU)

Location: 100% Remote (Within European Union)

Contract Type: B2B / Long-Term Contract

Daily Rate: €400 (B2B)

Are you a seasoned Automation Engineer with deep expertise in Puppet Enterprise?

This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your skills in a challenging, international setting and make a tangible impact on a significant automation platform.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and upgrade the Puppet Enterprise infrastructure to the latest versions.
  • Ensure 100% server compliance, troubleshooting unresponsive nodes and policy deviations.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert, supporting colleagues and other teams in their adoption of Puppet Enterprise.
  • Lead refactoring and improvement initiatives to enhance the platform's reliability and performance.
  • Drive the security posture of the Puppet installation and improve agent upgrade processes.
  • Champion DevOps best practices, including continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.

What We're Looking For (The Essentials):

  • A university degree and 9+ years of professional IT experience (e.g., as a Developer, System Administrator, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineer).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Puppet-based configuration management (design, architecture, development, and administration), preferably on RHEL 8+.
  • Proven track record from a minimum of 3 projects involving Puppet Enterprise on Linux/Unix.
  • 3+ years of experience with IT operations and Linux/Unix Administration (Red Hat preferred).
  • Experience in at least 2 projects involving server automation and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
  • Solid experience (3+ years) working with Agile/Scrum methodologies in an international environment.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
