About The Role

As a Lead Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in our data modernization initiatives, shaping how we build, organize, and utilize data across the organization. Your primary focus will be on developing well-structured, reliable data models within dbt and Databricks, specifically targeting the gold and platinum layers of our medallion architecture. This position sits at the intersection of analytics and engineering, making it ideal for a professional who is proficient in writing production-grade SQL, constructing modular dbt models, and designing data architectures that facilitate insightful analysis.

You will collaborate closely with our Data Analytics team, Analytics Engineering, and various business units to ensure data integrity, consistency, and readiness for strategic decision-making. Your expertise will help establish best practices in data modeling, validation, and documentation, contributing to a scalable and maintainable data ecosystem that empowers stakeholders with accurate and timely insights.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence our data infrastructure, mentor team members, and work on complex projects that directly impact business outcomes. If you are passionate about building high-quality data systems and enjoy working in a dynamic, remote environment, this position provides a rewarding career path within a forward-thinking organization.

Qualifications

  • 4–6+ years of experience in data analytics or analytics engineering
  • Proficiency in SQL, with experience building production-grade dbt projects (macros, testing, documentation, Jinja)
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks SQL or similar cloud data platforms
  • Strong understanding of medallion architecture and data modeling for gold and platinum layers
  • Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development using dbt Cloud or dbt Core
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively with business teams
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality data models

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Analytics Engineering team to align silver-layer data and develop gold and platinum layers in dbt
  • Build, document, and maintain reusable, production-grade data assets to support analytics and reporting needs
  • Implement best practices in dbt development, including modularization, testing, and version control
  • Design and execute data validation and quality checks to ensure dataset trustworthiness
  • Mentor analysts and team members on SQL, dbt workflows, and data modeling best practices
  • Collaborate with business partners from departments such as Product, Underwriting, and Claims to ensure analytical outputs meet their needs
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data architecture and modeling standards

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range from $120,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience and skills
  • Full-time, fully remote work environment, with flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States or from one of our office locations
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans
  • Retirement savings options and financial planning resources
  • Paid time off, holidays, and wellness programs
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement
