Principal Software Engineer – Embedded Linux
Farmington, MI
This company, a global leader in automotive safety technology, is building up a new development team for next generation products. They’re looking for a Principal Software Engineer with a Linux expertise (BSP, kernel, and driver) to be a technical lead in this group.

Position Description
You’ll be the Linux expert on a team responsible for developing embedded software for safety-critical automotive computer vision-based applications. You’ll take projects through the full life-cycle, from concept to delivery into production. You’ll work globally with product development teams to make sure the final product hits all marks.
Responsibilities include:
- Development (design, implement, test and debug) of core and/or application specific software requirements for automotive embedded electronic module serial production projects
- Develop software in compliance with a formal ASPICE/Comma based Global Engineering Process (GEP)
- Work on hardware/software integration and software configuration management.
- Act as the subject matter expert on all questions pertaining to Linux-based embedded development.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree and 10+ years of experience in full life-cycle embedded software development.
- A strong background with Linux kernel, device drivers, and BSPs.
- Experience working with ARM architecture (Nvidia, Qualcomm, TI).
- A background in automotive or machine vision technologies (machine learning/ML, ISP, etc.) is a strong plus.
- System-on-chip (SoC) background is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with global teams.
Compensation:
$140,000-160,000/year plus bonus.
H-1B visa transfers and TN visa holders can be considered for this opening.
