The Fixed Core tribe is part of TDO Network. You will work for and with the complete Fixed Core tribe to design, manage, and support our core networks and internet traffic of the various entities and we indirectly support end customers with their network needs. To ensure an optimized end-user experience for services, we continuously look for the best internet connectivity with our peering partners.

You add value by maintaining and continuously innovating the networks together with your team. With passion, craftsmanship, and focus on results. As Senior Network engineer you are, together with your team, responsible for the development of the current network towards the future state-of-the-art network. You and your team are responsible for the products within the Fixed Core with a primary focus on keeping the networks in top condition. In other words; operational management. To guarantee operational management 24×7, you will be part of a standby roster.

We are looking for a passioned Senior Network Engineer who can work in a DevOps environment:

• You are bold and show the courage to make changes, improve continuously, and develop yourself.
• You use your craftmanship and show entrepreneurship to improve the continuity and innovation of the service for all existing and new developments.
• You have strong knowledge of the fixed core network and can maintain and innovate network functions.
• You have strong knowledge and experience in working with Internet Peering and can maintain and innovate network functions.
• You have strong knowledge and experience in automating processes and functions in the network, especially in core and peering.
• You have strong insights on the fixed core network and can address and solve complex incidents and changes effectively.
  
  

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer who also has experience working in a DevOps organizational model. You are a result-oriented personality and always ambitious to go the extra mile. In a challenging environment, you easily share your knowledge with colleagues, and you learn from each other’s expertise.

Requirements

• HBO working and thinking level.
• Extensive experience in network engineering in the field of design, testing, and operations.
• Detailed knowledge of networking in routing & switching, TCP/IP stack, and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, DHCP, IPv6, and EVPN. preferably knowledge of Nokia, Cisco, and, Juniper.
• Proven experience with Python, passion for programming, and ability to learn new languages.
• Good understanding of automation with tools in a Test-automation pipeline like Ansible, Docker, Jenkins.
• Good knowledge of network security methodologies.
• Solid experience with Carrier grade network equipment and IP Networking in a telecom operator, & understanding of Service Provider Technologies
  
  

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the internet landscape, including transit providers, peering, internet exchanges.
• Experience with (traffic) engineering, configuration, and operation of MPLS and BGP re-routings.
• Agile Mindset and knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, and other Agile working methods.
