Job Description: Quality Assurance Engineer (Remote)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our remote team. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience with manual and automated testing, and a passion for delivering high-quality software products. You will work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to ensure features meet functional and performance expectations before release.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for new and existing features.
- Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Build and maintain automated test suites using industry-standard tools.
- Identify, document, and track defects; collaborate with engineers to reproduce and resolve issues.
- Participate in requirements reviews, providing feedback on testability and quality risks.
- Ensure releases meet quality standards and support continuous delivery workflows.
- Contribute to the QA process, improving testing methodologies and best practices.
- Collaborate effectively in a fully remote work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–10+ years of experience in software QA (manual and/or automated).
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and testing best practices.
- Hands-on experience with testing tools such as:
- Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar automation frameworks
- Postman, JMeter, or API testing tools
- Jira, TestRail, or bug-tracking systems
- Solid understanding of web technologies, databases, and REST APIs.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
- Familiarity with performance, load, or security testing.
- Knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflows.
