Job Description: Quality Assurance Engineer (Remote)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our remote team. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience with manual and automated testing, and a passion for delivering high-quality software products. You will work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to ensure features meet functional and performance expectations before release.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for new and existing features.
  • Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites using industry-standard tools.
  • Identify, document, and track defects; collaborate with engineers to reproduce and resolve issues.
  • Participate in requirements reviews, providing feedback on testability and quality risks.
  • Ensure releases meet quality standards and support continuous delivery workflows.
  • Contribute to the QA process, improving testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively in a fully remote work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–10+ years of experience in software QA (manual and/or automated).
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and testing best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with testing tools such as:
  • Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar automation frameworks
  • Postman, JMeter, or API testing tools
  • Jira, TestRail, or bug-tracking systems
  • Solid understanding of web technologies, databases, and REST APIs.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Familiarity with performance, load, or security testing.
  • Knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflows.
