Chief Technology Officer (CTO) | VC-Backed Wellness CPG | Fully Remote

The Role
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead the strategy, development, and scaling of the technology systems that power the company’s next phase of growth. As a member of the executive team, this leader will oversee all aspects of eCommerce, data architecture, infrastructure, and emerging technology innovation.
The CTO will collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Finance to deliver seamless digital experiences, enhance data-driven decision-making, and enable scalable omnichannel growth. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in fast-moving, consumer-facing environments and is motivated by building high-performing teams and impactful systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a multi-year technology roadmap to support company growth, scalability, and global expansion.
- Oversee eCommerce architecture (Shopify Plus) to ensure site performance, checkout optimization, and reliable integrations.
- Build, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering, data, and DevOps teams focused on innovation, reliability, and security.
- Own the company’s data infrastructure using tools like GTM, BigQuery, and related platforms, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and accessibility.
- Create a unified data foundation to enhance analytics, LTV modeling, and personalization initiatives.
- Introduce automation and AI tools to improve marketing, customer experience, and supply chain operations.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with global data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, CPRA) and platform security standards.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies (AI, composable commerce, personalization engines) to elevate the digital experience.
What We Need to See (Essential)
- 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, with at least 5 years in DTC or consumer eCommerce.
- Proven success leading engineering, data, and platform teams in high-growth digital businesses.
- Expertise in:
- Shopify Plus, Liquid, React, and API integrations
- Server-side tracking (GTM, Stape, Blotout, Elevar, CAPI)
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) and data pipeline management
- Analytics and AI tools (e.g., Haus, GA4)
- strong understanding of digital privacy frameworks, attribution modeling, and event-based tracking systems.
- Exceptional communication and strategic leadership skills, with the ability to translate technical vision into business impact.
What We’d Like to See (Bonus)
- Experience with headless or composable commerce platforms.
- Proven success leading digital transformation or system modernization initiatives.
- Familiarity with AI-powered personalization, automation, or predictive analytics.
- Experience managing multi-market or international compliance requirements.
Package: Up to $375,000 + Bonus + Equity
