Role: Founding Frontend Engineer
Location: Palo Alto, CA (On-Site)
Salary: $180K - $240K + Equity

About this role:
We are looking for a Founding Frontend Engineer (Frontend engineer with great product background) with 2-5 years of experience to define how the world's first AI-powered developer platform for hardware design will look and feel. This individual will be crucial in shaping the product's identity and user experience from the ground up, working closely with ML and product teams to translate complex AI workflows into intuitive tools.
What will you be doing?
- Code and help design the interfaces for our IDE / Developer tool for hardware engineer (think cursor but for hardware coding, waveform debugging, launching EDA tools and interacting with hardware block diagrams).
- Own the full product experience, from interaction design to production-ready UI working with react, typescript and modern frontend tech stack.
- Translate complex AI workflows into intuitive tools for hardware engineers.
- Set the foundation for company's product identity and design language.
- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers to build a first-of-its-kind product
Seniority
- 2 - 6 years of experience with frontend engineering and product design background, ideally for a design centric organization (e.g., Notion) or a dev tools company like Linear, Cursor, Databricks, Coderabbit etc.
Experience (Must Have)
- Strong front-end experience building intuitive AI-native interfaces.
- Strong Front-end engineering background with comfort using modern tech stack
- including react, typescript, next.js, html, css and javascript. Typescript is a must.
- Mastery of Frontend engineering for building and prototyping workflows
- alongside some experience building intuitive products.
- Able to code and design from scratch in a 0 to 1 environment
- Thrives in ambiguity and collaborates closely with engineers.

Nice to Have
- Experience designing and building for AI-powered tools or agent interfaces.
Huge bonus if the candidate has UI/UX fundamentals with Portfolio of designs
demonstrating systems thinking, visual craft, modern AI product intuition.
- Degree in Computer Science, Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), EECS
or related field.
- Experience designing tools for hardware engineering, chip design, or Electronic
Design Automation (EDA).
- Portfolio showcases a modern and futuristic design aesthetic, particularly in the
context of technical or developer-focused products.
- Portfolio includes products that have been publicly shipped and used by
customers.
- Professional experience working as a designer or product engineer at an
early-stage (e.g., Seed, Series A) startup.
- Demonstrated experience in designing user interfaces for native desktop
applications.
