About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic AI and Data Science Manager to lead our data science initiatives at Zicasso. In this fully remote, full-time role based in Texas, USA, you will oversee a talented team of data scientists, guiding the development of innovative AI-driven solutions that directly impact business operations, customer experiences, and strategic decision-making. Your expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics will be instrumental in driving data-centric initiatives that support the company’s growth and excellence in luxury travel services.
You will be responsible for both hands-on technical contributions and team leadership, mentoring your team to achieve high-impact outcomes. Your role involves translating complex business challenges into actionable data projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the deployment of scalable, production-ready AI models. Flexibility in work hours is available, with a preference for maximizing overlap with Pacific Time Zone hours to facilitate collaboration.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a related role
- At least 2 years of experience leading or managing a team of data professionals
- Proficiency in Python or R, with hands-on experience implementing machine learning pipelines and frameworks
- Advanced SQL skills, with experience working on large-scale relational or distributed datasets
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, data analysis techniques, and experimental design
- Hands-on expertise in AI, machine learning, and natural language processing (NLP) techniques, including model development, tuning, and validation
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business challenges into analytical projects
- Effective communication skills for conveying insights to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working independently in remote environments and fostering a collaborative team culture
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists, providing coaching and professional growth opportunities
- Manage project prioritization, allocation, and roadmap development aligned with business objectives
- Serve as the primary liaison between the data science team and cross-functional stakeholders, translating business needs into technical solutions
- Design, develop, and validate advanced AI and machine learning models, including deep learning architectures and NLP applications
- Analyze large, complex datasets to uncover strategic insights that drive product innovation and operational efficiency
- Oversee the design and analysis of A/B tests and multi-variant experiments to optimize business initiatives
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure scalable data infrastructure, quality, and consistency
- Provide training and guidance on data analysis, visualization, and reporting to promote a data-driven culture
- Help shape the company's AI and data science strategy, establishing clear objectives and performance benchmarks
