A direct client of Robert Half Enterprise Technology is seeking a highly skilled Senior Epicor P21 Techno-Functional Developer with strong SQL expertise and the interpersonal skills to collaborate closely with business leaders. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in integrating multiple newly acquired businesses and their inventories into the company’s primary P21 instance. They will investigate and document existing processes, understand the current system mapping and workflows, and provide mentorship to two junior Application Developers to enhance their productivity and skills. Reporting directly to the leadership team, this role serves as a pivotal bridge between IT and business operations. A deep understanding of EDI integration and hands-on experience with P21 configuration is essential.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• System Mapping and Process Understanding: Assess current Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) system processes and mappings left by the outgoing developer; Analyze and document the reasoning and logic behind existing configurations and workflows.
• Warehouse Integration Project: Lead the integration of inventory from newly acquired businesses into the main P21 instance; Configure and implement system processes to support the successful integration of four new warehouses by year-end; Troubleshoot and resolve integration-related challenges, ensuring seamless operations post-go-live.
• SQL Development and Database Management: Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts to support customization and reporting needs in P21; Provide insightful data analysis and reporting capabilities to empower business decision-making.
• Team Leadership and Mentorship: Collaborate with two Application Developers, providing mentorship, guidance, and skill development opportunities; Foster a collaborative environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
• EDI Customization and Maintenance: Design, implement, and maintain robust EDI connections to facilitate efficient communication between warehouses, vendors, and customers; Analyze and resolve EDI issues while adhering to industry standards and business requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business leaders to understand operational requirements and align P21 configurations with business goals; Communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Must Have Skillsets:

• Epicor Prophet 21 (P21): Deep understanding and hands-on experience managing, customizing, and configuring P21.
• SQL Proficiency: Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, database design, and troubleshooting.
• EDI Expertise: Strong knowledge of EDI setup, compliance, and troubleshooting in the context of P21.
• Business Acumen: Exceptional ability to collaborate with and communicate ideas to business leaders, providing innovative solutions to meet organizational needs.
• Problem Solving: Proven track record in identifying, analyzing, and solving complex system integration challenges.
• Leadership: Experience mentoring junior developers or team members to maximize their potential and ensure project success.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with inventory management and warehouse configuration in ERP systems.
• Familiarity with M&A integrations, particularly in the context of ERP environments.
• Project management abilities, particularly around ERP implementations or upgrades.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
