Job Description:
Seeking a highly experienced Senior Azure Data Architect with 10+ years of IT experience to lead the strategic design, implementation, and governance of enterprise-level data platforms on Microsoft Azure. The candidate must possess deep architectural expertise across the full Azure data ecosystem, focusing on scalability, security, and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the overall data strategy and reference architecture for cloud Data Warehouses and Data Lakes using Azure Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, and Snowflake.
- Lead the design of robust Data Pipelines and ETL/ELT architectures using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Databricks (PySpark/Scala).
- Implement data governance, security, and access control mechanisms (e.g., Azure Private Link, Azure Key Vault, RLS) across the entire Azure data landscape.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on migrating legacy data platforms to the Azure cloud.
- Oversee the implementation of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for all data solutions using Azure DevOps or Terraform.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and engineering teams to translate complex requirements into technical blueprints.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years overall IT experience; 5+ years in a dedicated Data Architecture or Lead Data Engineering role.
- Expert knowledge of Azure Data Services: Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, and ADLS Gen2.
- Strong proficiency in advanced SQL, data modeling (Dimensional/Inmon), and optimization techniques.
- Experience with cloud data warehousing concepts, including Snowflake.
- Proven experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD implementation.
