LOCATION: Lakeshore College – Cleveland, Wisconsin
POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Marketing Specialist will direct the overall campaign creative and messaging for designated campus projects ensuring brand compliance, copy standards, and strategic plan alignment to meet pre-determined objectives. Projects will include digital, broadcast, print, public relations, and grant marketing initiatives. The position also serves as the liaison for external media relations including the development of press releases and pitches, media tracking and monitoring, and maintaining a media database. Provides an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction.

- Develop and implement strategic communication plans to promote the college brand and align with college goals.
- Collaborate with graphic designer in creating concepts for campaigns and key creative deliverables to improve overall effectiveness and impact of communication projects.
- Develop and manage college’s owned media collateral such as content stories.
- Collaborate with Digital Marketing Specialist to develop digital content calendar.
- Participate in creative reviews and provide constructive feedback to marketing team to improve overall effectiveness and impact of communication projects.
- Assist the Executive Director of Marketing in the development of key communication deliverables.
- Direct activities and provide creative input and reviews to marketing team and consultants as needed.
- Develop and own verbal identity for the college to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
- Meet with Grant Department stakeholders to develop strategic marketing plans for incoming awards.
- Ensure grant dollars designated for marketing expenses are utilized appropriately and wholly.
- Acquire and provide marketing analytics to grant departments when requested.
- Meet with Workforce Solutions to develop monthly newsletter and associated marketing materials.
- Write and edit promotional copy to convey impactful, clear, and concise messages for a variety of target audiences across a broad range of media such as print, radio, broadcast/video, billboard, posters, brochures, and web pages.
- Reinterpret detailed material, facts, and research to provide potential students and customers with key information about Lakeshore programs & services.
- Ensure college voice and messaging are consistent, effective, and reflective of the college image and brand standards.
- Assist in proofing, rewriting and editing a wide variety of content.
- Develop press and media relations communication material in alignment with the college strategic and annual marketing plans including press releases, media advisories, and pitches.
- Build meaningful relationships with local media outlets to drive earned-media opportunities.
- Greet and accommodate media when visiting the campus.
- Maintain an accurate media database including updated media kits.
- Interview stakeholders, alumni, students, and business leaders as appropriate for content development.
- Monitor, track, and archive media stories.
- Acquire and archive signed media releases from photographed subjects.
- Participate on the college committees and provide input to the direction of college marketing initiatives, as needed.
- Provide project management for select communication pieces and web projects utilizing SMARTSHEET and other marketing tools such as Constant Contact email platform.
- Provide customer service support for Marketing department.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related discipline required.
- 4-5 years of relevant occupational experience required with additional experience preferred, including media relations, editing, and marketing plan development.
