Position Title: IT Systems Engineer

Location: Green River, WY

Key Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain, and enhance IT systems, servers, networks, and end-user environments.
  • Ensure reliability, performance, and security across both infrastructure and user devices.
  • Participate in IT projects, infrastructure upgrades, and system improvements from planning through implementation.
  • Communicate effectively with users, vendors, and management, maintaining accurate documentation of systems and procedures.

Activities

Engineering and Provisioning:

  • Administer Windows servers and Active Directory, including user management, group policies, security, and system configurations.
  • Assist in maintaining network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPNs.
  • Implement and maintain security measures across all systems, including access controls, encryption, and intrusion detection.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to design and implement IT solutions that meet business needs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and procedures.

Operations And Support

  • Monitor system performance and security, identifying and addressing issues proactively.
  • Execute and improve disaster recovery testing for infrastructure and critical applications to ensure operational requirements are met during a disaster.
  • Maintain systems based on best practices and operational needs.
  • Maintain lifecycle of systems and applications from implementation to decommission.
  • Participate in infrastructure support and on call rotation.

Maintenance

  • Apply system and firmware updates regularly.
  • Document and maintain operations, configurations, and procedures.
  • Monitor servers and network devices for uptime and performance.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.

Skill, Capabilities And Educational Requirements

Required Skills, Capabilities, and Educational Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or networking roles.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, and desktop support concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, VMware Cloud)
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN).
  • Ability to document procedures, communicate clearly, and collaborate with team members.
  • Self-starter with critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and communicate findings to colleagues and management.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, And Educational Requirements

  • Exposure to Office 365 / Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Familiarity with Cisco or Ubiquiti networking gear.
  • Basic scripting or automation knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
  • Experience providing consulting services to Fortune / Global 1000 clients and/or domain experience within relevant industry verticals such as Manufacturing, etc.
  • CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft certifications a plus.
