📍 Abu Dhabi, UAE | Full-Time | Space & Defense Sector
Apply at : connect@sraut.tech
What You Will Do
At SRAUT, you will lead, design, integrate the quantum communication subsystem inside our Next Gen NTN satellite payload. This includes developing QKD systems & integrating the architecture that secures satellite communications at a global scale.
You will work closely with our:
Regenerative baseband / onboard gNB team
FPGA/ASIC & SoC teams
Mission & systems engineering teams
Satellite security architecture team
Your work will directly shape the next generation satellites secured by space-grade quantum cryptography.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and develop satellite-based QKD systems (BB84, E91, MDI-QKD, CV-QKD).
Define requirements for detectors, modulators, and subsystems.
Support design of front-end: beam steering, alignment & acquisition.
Model QKD performance (key rates, QBER, atmospheric loss, orbital geometry).
Develop QKD post-processing algorithms: sifting, error correction, privacy amplification.
Integrate QKD keys with onboard 6G gNB security (PDCP, RRC, SDAP).
Interface QKD with classical control channels and inter-satellite optical links.
Contribute to flight hardware architecture, laboratory prototyping, and environmental validation.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong background in quantum communications.
Hands-on experience with:
Weak coherent sources
SPAD or SNSPD detectors
Polarization or phase modulation
Knowledge of QKD protocols: BB84, E91, decoy-state, MDI-QKD.
Experience with simulation tools (Python, MATLAB, OptiSystem, QuTiP).
Understanding of cryptography fundamentals.
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in research, development, or engineering roles, with at least 3 years of direct experience in the design, construction, or testing of QKD systems or advanced communication payloads.
Experience with satellite systems, multi orbit communication missions.
Knowledge of 3GPP security (PDCP/RRC) and NTN architectures.
Exposure to FPGA/ASIC implementation of cryptography or QKD algorithms.
Experience with space-grade hardware, environmental testing, or mission design.
