Job Description
At Docfield we're looking for a Part-Time Senior UX/UI Designer to be the voice of the user in the design of our digital products.
Location: Remote or Hybrid (Amsterdam)
Language: English (fluent) Dutch (preferred)
Type: Part Time
Reports to: Head of Product
10–16 hours per week
About The Job
As Senior UX/UI Designer at Docfield, you'll be responsible for collecting and translating user insights into delightful experiences. Ultimately, you’ll create both functional and appealing beautiful features that address our customer's needs. You will use your creativity and eye for design – along with your technical knowledge – to develop great experiences. You'll work with our users, our product manager and our development team. Together you'll deliver UI mockups, prototypes, MVPs and final products. In this role, you'll have the privilege of being the voice of our customers. You'll translate their needs into user-friendly designs. You will have direct impact on the customer's user-experience of our product.
This role is available either as freelance or employment, both on an indefinite basis. Hours can grow over time.
Qualifications
- A strong portfolio demonstrating work on SaaS products.
- Experience with prototyping, design systems, and Figma.
- Familiarity with user-research methodologies such as the double diamond model or design thinking.
- Experience working autonomously within a self-managing team is a plus.
- High attention to detail and the ambition to create designs that genuinely delight users.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
UX Research & Design (approx. 7 hrs/week)
- Conduct user interviews to identify problems and explore solutions.
- Map and validate target processes.
- Maintain and extend our Design System.
- Apply the Design System across product surfaces.
- Create new interface designs and validate implemented designs.
- Design marketing visuals such as website assets and brochures.
- Customer-driven approach: bottom-up rather than top-down.
- Occasional top-down work for small features.
- Kanban workflow with a “first things first” mindset.
- Strong focus on MVP delivery: validate quickly, iterate often.
- Short communication lines: you work directly with the Product Manager, speak with customers, and collaborate closely with the development team.
- Hybrid setup with flexible hours and the ability to work from anywhere, provided you are available between 9 AM and 5 PM Central European Time.
- Work remotely whenever you prefer, or join us at our co-working office in central Amsterdam.
