Role Overview

As a DevOps Engineer Intern at Shop ONline New York, you will play a vital, hands-on role in automating, optimizing, and securing our development and production operations. Your experience will directly contribute to the stability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure. You will work alongside seasoned developers, QA engineers, and product owners to ensure a seamless, high-velocity deployment process as we transition into this demanding testing phase.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and efficient code integration and deployment across environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent solutions.
• Monitor system performance comprehensively, proactively identifying bottlenecks, and delivering solutions to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency.
• Collaborate directly with development teams to streamline the deployment process, troubleshoot real-time issues, and manage release trains.
• Implement robust security practices (DevSecOps) across our cloud infrastructure to safeguard systems and critical data assets.
• Lead the planning and execution of performance and load testing, ensuring our systems can reliably handle projected high traffic volumes.
• Provide guidance and technical expertise to junior team members, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous operational improvement.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience in DevOps practices, with a strong, demonstrable understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep familiarity with cloud services across major providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and automation tooling.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Ruby for automation purposes.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of monitoring and centralized logging systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Mandatory experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the proven ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure.
• A proactive, self-starter attitude and an uncompromising commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable infrastructure.
• Previous experience in a DevOps or SRE role is essential.
