Business Analyst – Market Risk Technology
London – Remote or Hybrid
BP is hiring a Business Analyst to join their Market Risk Technology team in London. This is a great fit for someone who wants to work in a high-impact digital environment, shaping products used across global energy trading. You’ll work closely with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders across London, Houston, Singapore, Chicago, and Pune.
This role blends business analysis, product thinking, and data-driven problem-solving in one of the world’s most influential energy organisations.
What you’ll be doing
- Act as the go-to BA for your product area and ensure alignment with strategic direction
- Lead workshops, define processes, and refine both functional and non-functional requirements
- Write high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria
- Analyse systems, data, and constraints to inform design decisions
- Use SQL and data analysis to validate solutions and support decision-making
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (engineering, testing, product, SecOps)
- Build strong relationships with global stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement of processes and controls
What you’ll bring
- ~5 years working across digital product delivery as a Business Analyst
- Experience working with globally distributed teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate between business and technical stakeholders
- Solid understanding of agile delivery and product development
- Ability to lead workshops, drive clarity, and shape requirements independently
- Analytical mindset and familiarity with SQL
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have:
- Experience in market risk, trading, or financial services
- Knowledge of ETRM systems
- Degree in economics, finance, engineering, or related field
