DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will provide engineering support through reliability processes and function within the highly automated business units Non-grain Oriented Electrical Steel plant (NOES) to meet the business goals of ArcelorMittal Calvert.


The Basics:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation or related Engineering Discipline required
  • Proficient in RCM Practices (Reliability Centered Maintenance)
  • Able to perform data analysis on equipment performance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
  • 5 years minimum engineering experience in manufacturing, commissioning or service for electrical automation systems, preferred in steel or similar heavy industry
  • 5 years minimum experience with PLC, DCS, Industrial Controllers


The Extras:

  • Rolling Mills previous working strongly preferred
  • Experience with:
  • Industrial process automation systems like cascade regulation systems, used for gap control, tension control, speed control and other reprocess controls
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) like Siemens S7, Siemens TIA Portal, ABB
  • Human Machine Interface Systems (WinCC)
  • Industrial communication systems, like LAN systems, Profibus, Profinet
  • Industrial Instrumentation
  • Motor Control utilizing Variable Frequency Drives including regulation via PLC systems
  • Low/Medium voltage motors control systems
  • CRE (Certified Reliability Engineer)
  • AutoCad working knowledge
  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar
  • Proficient with RCFA, Cause Mapping, Kaizen problem solving methodologies
  • Proficient in writing technical proposals and communications at multiple levels of the organization
  • HMI’s experience preferred

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Provide technical leadership in a highly automated production facility
  • Provides Engineering Support for the Maintenance and Operations Team
  • Subject Matter Expert for Reliability Engineering practices
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects to increase productivity, availability, and efficiency
  • Improve process automation by leading and supporting electrical improvement projects, focusing on automatic control systems and associated field devices
  • Continuous optimization of process automation systems utilizing process data acquisition systems
  • Lead and participate in the commissioning of new equipment
  • Responsible for planning improvement activities using SAP software
  • Support training, coaching, and mentoring for maintenance technicians and operations team members
  • Work in interdisciplinary teams during process improvement activities
  • Work with Process Engineers and all Maintenance staff regarding day-to-day line activities
  • Initiates and Facilitate Root Cause Analysis of equipment failures and major breakdowns
  • Identifies and proposes solutions for repeat equipment failures and unplanned downtime events
  • Participates in execution of critical equipment inspections and analysis
  • Analyzes Equipment Data, recommended maintenance plans, drawings, etc.
  • Writes technically based Equipment Maintenance Plans
  • Performs tracking and trending of equipment maintenance performance
  • Review drawings and technical documentation

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office and Industrial setting in a production unit Non-grain Oriented Electrical Steel plant (NOES)
  • Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
  • Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
