Job Description:
Our client, an organizations that provides wellness programs, is looking for a mid-level to senior Infrastructure engineer with experience in managing AWS infrastructure and operating highly-available customer facing applications and services. The Infrastructure engineer has three separate but primary responsibilities within the engineering organization. The first is maintaining an organized AWS cloud environment to support the software development lifecycle for web and mobile applications and a data analysis pipeline with storage and processing units. The second is implementing security controls for the digital infrastructure to meet the standards required by our client, including federal standards such as CMMC and FedRamp. The third is leading the DevOps lifecycle for a small engineering team by defining best practices and creating automation tools to support these practices and the other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
● Maintaining AWS infrastructure and a Kubernetes cluster with Terraform and
provisioning resources as needed by application teams.
● Setting standards and procedures for corrective action failing applications or
infrastructure.
● Creating infrastructure to monitor the uptime and reliability of applications and
infrastructure.
● Assisting application teams in implementing best CI/CD practices with GitLab.
● Overseeing overall cloud environment security stance and facilitating web
application security reviews and certification, as necessary.
● Leading security accreditation in various security frameworks such as HIPAA,
CMMC and FedRamp.
● Participating in feature development discussions and assisting with work
prioritization.
● Pushing innovative ideas for small software team development practices.
Qualifications:
● Extensive experience managing an AWS account with Terraform
● Experience with managing a Kubernetes cluster, preferably AWS EKS
● Experience with managing a source code repository (such as GitHub, GitLab) as
well as self-hosted CI/CD runners.
● Experience with security accreditation processes for any security framework
(FedRamp and CMMC strongly preferred)
