Director of Engineering - Video Game Studio/Publisher
Location: Austin, TX (on-site- must be local or willing to relocate)
Salary: $180,000-$230,000 DOE + Annual Bonuses + Comprehensive Benefits

Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, you will spearhead the engineering team, driving growth and cultivating talent while maintaining hands-on involvement in game development. This role combines strategic leadership with technical execution. Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and executing technical strategy and operational roadmap in alignment with company goals
- Leading a team of 20 engineers, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of high performance
- Collaborating cross-functionally with executives and other departments to ensure seamless integration of engineering efforts
- Architecting and developing robust, feature-rich systems from inception to implementation
- Producing clear documentation for designers and engineers
- Championing engineering best practices and continuous improvement
- Troubleshooting complex systems and features as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
- 15+ years of software development experience
- 5-10+ years in engineering leadership roles
- 5+ years in the video game industry
- Proven track record of delivering multiple titles across modern gaming platforms (PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch)
- Expertise in C++ development and proficiency in scripting languages (Blueprint, LUA, C#, Python, etc.)
- Strong understanding of Unreal Engine and version control systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
