Senior AWS DevOps Engineer

6-Month Contract | Remote (UK-based) | Outside IR35

Day Rate: £400–£450


Overview

One of our consultancy clients is seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join on a 6-month contract. The successful engineer will work closely with end clients, so strong communication and stakeholder-facing skills are essential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation solutions
  • Support cloud migrations and modernisation projects
  • Ensure security, monitoring, and best practices across environments
  • Collaborate with client teams, providing technical guidance and clear communication
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues


Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, VPC, CloudWatch, IAM, etc.)
  • Proven background in DevOps engineering within consultancy or client-facing environments
  • Expertise in IaC tooling (Terraform preferred)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
  • Strong knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure best practices
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python or Bash)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with clients
