Job Description


Green Card or US Citizen - Direct Hire Fulltime - NO (Sponsorship, C2C, H1B, F1, OPT)

Location: 100% Remote, Pay: $85,000 to $90,000 - 1st Shift - On-call Required based on team rotation.

  • Legacy Solaris with clustering.



CBTS is searching for a fulltime Linux Engineer II to provide Linux Server administration as a member of the CBTS team. Execute procedures for hardware repair, change requests, and scheduled maintenance. Responsible for assisting in the implementation and support of virtualized Linux servers.



Responsibilities:

  • 10% - Write and maintain systems documentation. Work with team lead to develop procedures and guidelines for implementation and management of Windows Server administration.
  • 50% - Provide day-to-day Windows administration on virtualized servers through ITIL defined processes.
  • 15% - Perform ServiceNow ticket queue management (New Entries, updates, Resolutions and maintenance tickets.
  • 10% - Assist in V2V and P2V migration efforts
  • 10% - Linux Server analysis and patch management.
  • 5% - Assist in the management of the virtualization infrastructure.
  • On-call requirements based on team rotation.



Education

Two years of college resulting in an Associate’s degree or equivalent.



Requirements:

3 to 5 years on the following:

  • Hands on experience with SNMP monitoring tools.
  • Working with network troubleshooting tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup, and dig
  • General understanding of IP subnetting, including variable length subnet masks
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) with RAC clustering.
  • Knowledge of Solaris with Veritas Clustering
  • Knowledge of VMware
  • Working knowledge of Clustering and High availability systems
  • Working knowledge of SAN and extending logical volumes/managers
  • Working Knowledge of secure file systems, permissions
  • Familiarity with firewalls, routers, switches, VLAN, VPN Familiarity with high availability, disaster recovery, and load balancer concepts
  • Customer focused interpersonal skills in a support environment
