Site Reliability Engineer – Space & Intelligence Systems

About the Role

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support its Space & Intelligence Systems line of business. In this role, you will be part of a cross-functional engineering team responsible for ensuring the uptime, survivability, and reliability of mission-critical systems supporting national security missions.

This position plays a vital role in automating infrastructure, improving high-availability environments, and supporting enterprise services across highly secure, research-oriented programs.

This is a flex position, but requires frequent onsite support at Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora, CO. Relocation assistance is available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain uptime, performance, and reliability of mission-critical systems supporting space and intelligence operations.
  • Automate systems administration tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Policy as Code (PaC), and Configuration as Code (CaC) tools.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise services within classified environments.
  • Perform Linux system administration, including scripting for automation and optimization.
  • Develop, improve, and maintain monitoring/alerting solutions for high-availability systems.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to identify, design, and implement system improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership, promote best practices, and support ongoing professional development across the team.
  • Champion innovation, process improvements, and technology adoption aligned with mission needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance (required).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in systems engineering, Linux administration, DevOps/SRE, or related technical roles.
  • Strong experience with Linux systems administration in enterprise or mission-critical environments.
  • Proficiency with automation/scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, Policy as Code, or Configuration as Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef).
  • Experience configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting enterprise services.
  • U.S. citizenship (required due to security clearance requirements).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting DoD, IC, or aerospace mission systems.
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Experience working in SCIF environments or classified operations centers.
  • Background supporting space, satellite, or ground communication systems.
