About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Embedded Android Developer to join our client's dynamic software engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge embedded systems within a fast-scaling tech organization that is committed to transforming global industries. As a key member of the development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Android applications tailored for embedded devices. Your contributions will directly impact the functionality and performance of innovative products that reach millions of users worldwide.

This position requires a hands-on approach, with a focus on building new Android functionalities and enhancing existing sophisticated codebases. Working in an agile environment, you will participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and collaborative problem-solving sessions. Effective communication skills are essential, as you will regularly liaise with UX designers, product managers, and test engineers to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality software solutions. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with 23 days in the office and 23 days remote, fostering a flexible yet collaborative working environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and practical experience, including:

• A proven track record in developing stable Android applications for embedded devices, not limited to mobile applications.
• Strong proficiency in Java for Android, including familiarity with associated development tools and testing frameworks.
• Experience in UI design and implementation, ensuring intuitive and responsive user interfaces.
• Proficiency in API integration and interaction with various hardware components.
• Ability to produce detailed technical requirements and comprehensive design documentation.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  
  

Desirable qualifications include knowledge of Android Open Source Project (AOSP), experience with Android Kiosk mode and custom controls, safety-critical software development experience (such as automotive, aerospace, or medical devices), familiarity with Android Studio, and understanding of architectural patterns like MVC, MVP, and MVVM. Additional skills in TDD, peer code reviews, cybersecurity awareness, and cloud or IoT development are considered advantageous.
