System Administrator – Senior
Clearance: Top Secret (T5 Investigation)
Education: BA/BS in a technical discipline
Experience: 10+ years

Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking a Senior System Administrator for a potential opportunity supporting the stability and optimization of in-house software systems and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and enhance all network software and communication links to ensure reliable operations across the organization.

Location: 100% Remote (must be within commutable distance to Northern Virginia)

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and direct the configuration and operation of information management systems.

  • Analyze and resolve end-user software and connectivity issues.

  • Conduct capacity and performance analyses and recommend configuration changes and system upgrades.

  • Increase efficiency and accuracy through automated tools, scripts, procedures, and skills assessments.

  • Develop and deliver end-user training.

  • Provide recommendations on technology direction to align with the organization’s business vision.

  • Lead and mentor other system administrators, overseeing day-to-day system administration, resource optimization, and user support.

  • Apply advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing and fault tolerance.

  • Perform vulnerability management and ensure adherence to security best practices.
     

Required Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in a technical discipline and a minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in Information Processing.

  • Specialized experience includes progressive work with a variety of hardware/software solutions across information processing disciplines.

  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting software and systems.

  • Experience providing local and remote maintenance support for operational systems in multi-site environments, including maintenance, upgrades, and new installations of servers and applications.
