QA Automation Engineer – Building the Iron Dome for LegalTech Logic

Location: Latin America | Remote

The Situation

Look, let’s be honest. In some industries, a software bug just means a user has to refresh their browser. It is annoying, sure, but the world keeps spinning. In LegalTech? A bug is a missed court filing, a compliance disaster, or a very expensive lawsuit.

We are partnering with a major player in the LegalTech space that manages high-volume, sensitive IP and compliance workflows. They don't need "good enough." They need absolute stability. Right now, they are looking for an automation owner. Someone who understands that manual testing is like trying to mow a football field with a pair of scissors—technically possible, but painful and inefficient. We need you to bring the industrial-grade riding mower.

What You’ll Do

  • Build the Safety Net: You will design and implement robust automation frameworks that catch regressions before they ever see the light of day.
  • Stop the Manual Madness: Transition the team from repetitive manual clicking to smart, scalable scripts. You are saving human sanity here, not just time.
  • Hunt Down the "Flakies": You will wage war against flaky tests. We want a suite that is reliable, not one that passes based on the phase of the moon.
  • Guard the Gates: Integrate your tests directly into the release pipeline. If the code is not solid, it does not ship. Simple as that.
  • Lead the Logic: You are not just a ticket-taker. You will be defining the QA architecture for the long haul, eventually owning the entire automation strategy.

Tech Stack & Tools

We are not dogmatic, but we are precise. Here is the toolkit you will be wielding:

  • Automation Frameworks: You need deep expertise with modern tools like Playwright, Cypress, or the classic Selenium.
  • Scripting: You must be fluent in PythonorJavaScriptto build maintainable test logic.
  • API Testing: Verify the backend with tools like PostmanorPytest.
  • CI/CD Integration: Hook your tests into the workflow using GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Version Control: Good old Gitis essential.

Requirements (The Must-Haves)

  • The Experience: You have at least 5 years of experience in QA for SaaS systems. You have seen things break, and you know how to fix them.
  • The Scalability Mindset: You have evolved QA practices in a growing org. You know that what works for five devs breaks when you have fifty.
  • The Coding Chops: You are not just recording macros. You can write clean, efficient code to script complex validation scenarios.
  • The API Knowledge: You understand that the UI is just the tip of the iceberg. You are comfortable diving under the water to test the APIs.
  • The Communication: You can explain a critical failure to a Product Manager without using jargon that makes their eyes glaze over.

Nice-to-Have (Bonus Points)

  • Experience in the legal or compliance sector (you already know the stakes).
  • A background in performance testing—because fast is a feature.
  • The ability to mentor junior engineers without turning into a "Well, actually..." meme.

What’s in It for You?

  • Competitive Compensation: We pay for talent. No lowballing.
  • Fully Remote: Work from anywhere in LATAM. Your couch, a cafe, a mountain cabin—as long as the Wi-Fi holds up.
  • Real Career Growth: This role is designed to evolve into a leadership position. You build the architecture, you get to own it.
  • High-Impact Work: You are protecting the integrity of legal systems. It is serious, tangible work with real-world consequences.
