Job Description


  • Job Title: Database Administrator
  • Location: Remote
  • Compensation: $90–$100 per hour; weekly payments; independent contractor role


We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients — a global leader in AI infrastructure and large-scale data systems — for experienced Database Administrators to support a high-priority project enabling next-generation AI model training. This short-term contract involves hands-on database operations, performance optimization, and production-grade system management.


Role Overview

As a Database Administrator, you will execute critical tasks across performance tuning, schema management, data quality validation, and operational workflows. Your expertise will support the stability, reliability, and efficiency of large-scale data environments used for advanced AI model development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize complex SQL queries using indexing, EXPLAIN plans, and execution analysis
  • Implement schema updates with rollback strategies and version control
  • Configure, test, and verify automated backup and restoration workflows
  • Manage roles, permissions, and database security policies
  • Import and export data with full validation and integrity checks
  • Conduct data quality audits and develop remediation scripts
  • Manage transaction logs, update statistics, and test failover and recovery workflows
  • Perform system audits, patching, and compliance-driven data extractions
  • Document workflows, performance findings, and technical procedures clearly


Ideal Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a production Database Administrator
  • Expert-level SQL skills with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server
  • Strong background in performance tuning, schema design, and data integrity management
  • Familiarity with compliance standards, operational tooling, and backup/restore systems
  • Ability to work with large datasets and produce reliable, production-grade scripts
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail


Opportunity Details

  • Approximately 6-week engagement
  • Minimum 30 hours per week
  • Fully remote and asynchronous
