Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will develop software solutions by studying user information needs, conferring with stakeholders, and analyzing system flows, data usage, and work processes. This role involves investigating problem areas and preparing solutions by designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform application development, enhancement, maintenance, and support for various web-based and enterprise applications.
- Develop and maintain web-based J2EE/Portal applications, ensuring alignment with SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) platforms using Agile methodologies.
- Participate in requirements analysis, high-level and detailed design, development, testing, and deployment of new application components.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth integration and completion of tasks.
- Create and maintain technical and design documentation.
- Perform system analysis and provide solutions for problem resolution.
- Identify opportunities for software optimization, configuration, and performance tuning.
- Develop and maintain data and process models as required.
- Employ contemporary testing methodologies to ensure error-free application functionality.
- Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
- Participate in program design, coding, and test walkthrough meetings to provide technical input regarding standards and customer requirements.
- Provide ongoing application support including defect repair, maintenance, and production operations support for Java-based applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues, analyze software for defects, and improve application reliability and performance.

- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with fundamental programming concepts such as data structures, algorithms, performance optimization, caching, and scalability in the context of web-based UI applications.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in computer science, computer information systems, engineering, or management information systems.
- 8 years of hands-on experience in server-side/web services development, enhancing and maintaining enterprise-level applications on the J2EE development platform.
- 8 years of hands-on experience in all phases of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
- 8 years of hands-on development experience in J2EE application servers, implementing authentication and authorization strategies, and working with caching mechanisms.
- 8 years of hands-on programming experience using Java, J2EE, REST/SOAP, HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap, SASS, Angular, Typescript, Spring, JSON, XML, JWT, NPM, Maven, OpenAPI v3, OAuth, Postman, ReadyAPI, Mulesoft, and/or similar technologies.
- 8 years of experience in implementing REST services, particularly supporting client-facing applications and securing REST services using JWT, OAuth, and related technologies/standards.
- 8 years of experience in developing reusable and testable modules and components with ownership of enterprise-level web services.
- 3 years of hands-on experience with JBoss or IBM WebSphere Application Server (version 8 or later).
- 3 years of experience with Agile development methodologies (preferably Scrum).
- 3 years of experience with CI/CD methodologies and containerized application deployments.
- 3 years of experience with web applications developed for cloud platforms.
- 3 years of experience with test-driven development (TDD) and frameworks such as Karma, Jasmine, and Selenium.
