Senior Software QA Engineer


Location: Brazil Fully Remote

Reports To: Head of QA/ Engineering Manager

Setup: Consultancy/PJ

Must Have: English Resume and Professional level of English Communication Skills


About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Sr QA Engineer with strong experience in both automated and manual testing. This role is critical to ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and user experience. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to design and execute test plans, build automated test suites, and champion quality across the entire software development lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Test Planning & Execution
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand requirements, acceptance criteria, and potential risks.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases covering functional, regression, integration, and performance scenarios.
  • Perform manual testing for exploratory, usability, and edge-case scenarios.
  • Test Automation
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites (UI, API, and regression).
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality feedback.
  • Monitor and maintain test results, ensuring failures are triaged quickly.
  • Defect Tracking & Reporting
  • Log, prioritize, and track defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure Linear).
  • Partner with developers to reproduce, debug, and verify fixes.
  • Provide clear reporting on test coverage, pass/fail rates, and quality trends.
  • Quality Advocacy
  • Participate in design reviews, backlog grooming, and sprint planning to identify potential issues early.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and prevent defects.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, Software Tester, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in writing automated tests using frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
  • Experience testing APIs using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI).
  • Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
