Job Title: Electrical Module Design Release Engineer

About the Role:
Location: Detroit, MI (Onsite | Long-Term Contract)
In this position, you will be responsible for the requirements definition, design execution, analysis, development, testing, and release of Electrical Module components. You will lead a Product Development Team, collaborate across engineering functions, and provide technical direction for the design and release of a wireless charging system, ensuring on-time delivery and robust engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain Interface Control Design (ICD) strategy and templates
- Develop and maintain commodity-specific documentation
- Generate and maintain global subsystem/component technical specification templates (SSTS/CTS)
- Lead and resolve technical issues across the product lifecycle
- Capture lessons learned and update best practices, specifications, and requirement templates
- Coordinate cross-functionally across teams and multiple suppliers
- Lead/manage supplier resident engineers
- Support sourcing activities and supplier timing
- Provide technical solutions for current, new, and major programs
- Perform complex design analysis and initiate engineering documentation
- Support cost reduction, product improvement, and build programs
- Own module validation activities and test execution
- Manage part deliveries for benches, retrofits, and assembly plants
Required Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, Physics, Math, or Computer Science
- 2+ years of related engineering experience
- Knowledge of microcontroller architectures, memory technologies, and programming
- Understanding of hardware design and failure modes of electronic modules
- Knowledge of vehicle serial communications
- Strong experience writing and interpreting HW/SW requirements
- Experience with software verification/validation processes
- Knowledge of testing methodologies and tools
- Ability to translate functional requirements into algorithms or models
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems
Preferred Qualifications
- DFMEA training
- Experience in software algorithm design and architecture
- Engineering change management experience
- Electronic validation experience
- DFSS Black Belt certification
- Vehicle communication tool experience
- Wiring and harnessing knowledge
- Experience developing safety-critical systems/components
