We are partnered with a high-growth construction technology startup that is modernising how a $12T global industry operates. Their platform unifies fragmented legacy construction systems into a single, modern API and automation layer, enabling real-time data flow across tools that were never designed to talk to each other.
The company is already cash-flow positive, scaling rapidly, and solving deeply technical, infrastructure-heavy problems that most startups avoid. The founding team is tight-knit, highly technical, and has worked together for over a decade across multiple successful companies. They have removed much of the typical early-stage risk while preserving the upside of true early growth.
This is a rare chance to work on mission-critical infrastructure with real-world impact at scale.
What You Will Do
- Build and scale high-performance backend systems that unify fragmented construction software through a standardised API platform
- Design and implement robust integrations with legacy systems including SQL-based systems, DLL interfaces, and external APIs
- Architect features that must scale cleanly across dozens of systems including authentication, pagination, filtering, caching, and rate-limiting
- Contribute meaningfully across both backend services and frontend (React) applications that actively dogfood the company’s own API
- Help design and maintain a modern testing, CI/CD, and release pipeline supporting 1,000+ production endpoints
- Work closely with the founding engineers to shape core architectural decisions as the platform scales
Ideal Background
- 1 to 5 years of experience in backend or full-stack software engineering
- Strong computer science fundamentals with clear evidence of independent execution
- Experience building or maintaining distributed systems, API platforms, or infrastructure-heavy products
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving technical environments
- Energised by early-stage risk and motivated by real ownership and impact
- Willing to work in-person in San Francisco in a highly collaborative engineering team
What Makes This Opportunity Different
- You will work on real infrastructure problems that directly touch how construction data moves across the industry
- The business is already profitable, removing many of the usual early-stage financial risks
- You will work directly with a deeply technical founding team with a long history of successful execution
- Your work will ship quickly to production and be used by real customers in the field
- Meaningful equity upside paired with strong base compensation
Benefits and Perks
- Health insurance with 90% coverage
- 401(k) with 100% match up to 4%
- Relocation bonus for candidates moving to San Francisco
- Fully equipped on-site gym with Peloton, squat rack, and yoga facilities
- Visa sponsorship available
If you are excited by backend infrastructure, large-scale APIs, and solving overlooked but enormously impactful technical problems, we want to hear from you.
