Job Description

Fast-growing enterprise software startup is looking for its first People Operations hire to support its growth trajectory. With their recent funding and top-tier partnership, this 83-person team is off to the races and doubling headcount next year! This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with leadership to shape culture and employee experience. In this role, you’ll focus on People Ops by developing onboarding/offboarding processes, compensation and benefits strategy, feedback cycles and performance management, immigration policy and visa sponsorship, and hiring process strategy. You’ll also oversee office operations, including strategizing on office moves, space planning, equipment procurement, and employee programs, while serving as the go-to person for employee questions. Someone with previous experience at a high-growth startup with an entrepreneurial ownership mindset, who can own problems end-to-end independently. You must be able to move extremely fast, juggle multiple work streams simultaneously, and bring upbeat, positive energy to this young, vibrant team. This is a hybrid role, 3 days/week, based in New York in Midtown Manhattan. Must be willing to travel to the office in London at least twice a quarter. 150-200K+ DOE + equity, premium benefits for dependents too, 401k w/ matching, unlimited PTO, and fun bi-annual international team offsites!

Responsibilities:

  • Build and execute People Operations processes, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.
  • Manage the entire employee lifecycle from offer letter to offboarding, creating systems that make sense for the company's culture and rapid growth trajectory.
  • Develop and execute a compensation strategy, ensuring competitive and equitable pay structures across geographies.
  • Design and implement feedback cycles and performance management processes that drive employee development and business outcomes.
  • Manage payroll operations across multiple countries, working with payroll providers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Shape benefits strategy and administer benefits programs, working with brokers to ensure comprehensive coverage.
  • Own onboarding programs that set new hires up for success and offboarding processes that maintain relationships.
  • Partner with the recruiting team to optimize the hiring process and strategy as the company scales.
  • Coordinate immigration and visa sponsorship processes for international employees and relocations.
  • Develop an office management strategy, determining the right office space for growth, and execute on implementation.
  • Manage office operations, including space planning, ordering equipment, and ensuring the NY office runs smoothly.
  • Oversee the company's employee programs, such as the food program, etc.
  • Coordinate with the London office management team to ensure a consistent employee experience internationally.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees on people-related questions—benefits, equity, workplace policies, account access issues—being the face of Ops in the NY office.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel on compliance matters across various matters.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of People Operations or Operations Generalist experience, ideally at a high-growth startup or fast-paced company where you've owned meaningful operations projects and scaled through rapid growth.
  • Entrepreneurial ownership mindset and proactive problem-solving.
  • Ability to move extremely fast and keep up with a quick pace while remaining responsive.
  • Self-starter who operates independently and is extremely self-resourceful.
  • Exceptional operational execution and ability to juggle many concurrent workstreams without dropping balls, staying hyper-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Flexible and adaptable to different approaches.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Handle sensitive situations with empathy and discretion.
  • Comfortable managing People programs across various countries.
