Are you passionate about modern software development and looking to make a real impact? We're hiring a DevSecOps Engineer to join our team in Rockford, Illinois, where we develop embedded software for Power Distribution and Controls in Electric Power Systems.
In this role, you’ll help improve how we build software, making it faster, more secure, and easier to test. You’ll work closely with our engineering teams to design and implement DevSecOps pipelines that bring automation, efficiency, and innovation into everything we do.
What You Will Do 
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement efficient DevSecOps pipelines tailored to Electric Power Systems software development, driving innovation and streamlining processes. 
- Develop automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery processes to enhance efficiency and accelerate software development cycles. 
- Architect, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, shaping the future of software delivery. 
- Select, configure, and integrate tools to enhance software development flow, optimizing productivity and performance. 
- Work closely with the Power & Controls DevOps Manager and the Enterprise Digital Product Life Cycle (DPLC) team to understand and adapt DevOps practices, ensuring alignment with the specific needs of Electric Systems programs and driving continuous improvement. 
- Provide DevSecOps implementation expertise to assist Electric Power Systems software teams in adopting DevSecOps tools and best practices. 
- Enable development teams to automate artifact generation and effectively manage product lifecycles, promoting efficiency and quality. 
- Automate software releases while ensuring quality, cybersecurity, and safety requirements are met, driving excellence in software delivery. 
- Drive behavioral- and test-driven development practices to enhance software design, implementation, and test automation, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. 
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards that display DevSecOps metrics, performance measures, and indicators of continuous improvement, enabling data-driven decision-making and success in Power & Controls embedded software development. 
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. 
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline development and automation tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar). 
- Strong knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and security practices in DevSecOps environments. 
- Experience working in aerospace, defense, or medical devices with a focus on secure software development and compliance standards

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
