The Role:

This is a great opportunity for an experienced .NET site reliability software Engineer to join a talented Software Development team working on a variety of projects within a distributed team environment across the UK, Spain and Poland, to build and maintain Azure based applications for our strategic global platform. You will bring with you prior experience of developing applications written in .NET Framework or .NET Core, working in medium sized development teams utilizing features such as Azure web apps, SQL PaaS databases, blob storage, service bus, and other Azure services. Also extensive experience with docker containerization, Unix/Linux and Powershell scripts. The Group is embarking on an exciting and challenging transformation program, and our software solutions are a driving force behind this strategy to deliver cloud based computing and leading-edge design and architecture to our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand our Platform's architecture and moving parts.
  • Support docker containerisation, testing, and deployment of the remaining services (most have already been containerised).
  • Mock external integrations to enable running the platform end-to-end locally using Docker containers.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and orchestration of docker containers using Azure Container Apps.
  • Provide guidance and support to developers on successfully leveraging docker containerisation technologies.
  • Promote best practices for setting up the pipelines that build our Docker containers.
  • Redesign and optimize data seeding for our database image.
  • Research and implement performance improvements in the containers, both locally and in Azure.

Knowledge And Experience

  • A .NET software engineer at heart with 7+ years experience.
  • Expertise in Entity Framework, Dependency Injection, Asynchronous programming, Event-Driven architecture, and Service Bus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL and T-SQL.
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting skills.
  • Unix/Linux previous experience.
  • Solid understanding of Azure DevOps pipelines and related concepts (e.g., YAML pipelines, CI/CD, artifact management, release strategies).
  • Hands-on experience with Docker containers and tools such as Podman or Docker Desktop.
  • Previous exposure to Angular and TypeScript (preferred).
  • Previous exposure to Azure Chaos Studio (preferred).
