Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Engineer, FinOps & DevOps in India.
This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about cloud cost optimization, automation, and operational efficiency. You will drive FinOps and DevOps initiatives across multi-cloud environments, enhancing cost visibility, governance, and resource optimization while collaborating with finance, platform, and SRE teams. The position offers exposure to AWS, Azure, and cloud-native services, and provides an opportunity to design automated workflows, policy-as-code, and reporting dashboards that directly impact operational performance and financial transparency. Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain cloud cost allocation, budgeting, and chargeback models across AWS and Azure accounts
- Implement and enforce tagging strategies and resource hierarchy standards to maintain high compliance (>90%)
- Build and publish cost visibility dashboards using Power BI, QuickSight, Looker, or other FinOps tools
- Execute cloud resource optimization, rightsizing, scheduling, and lifecycle management
- Implement governance policies and automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Policy, and related tools
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, and product teams to provide actionable insights on cost, performance, and resource utilization
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and DevOps best practices, including GitOps workflows
- 3–6 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Operations, DevOps, or SRE, with 1–2 years in FinOps or cloud cost optimization
- Hands-on experience with two or more major public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Proficiency in tagging strategy, cost reporting, and optimization techniques (RI/SP/CUDs, rightsizing)
- Experience with cloud observability and reporting tools such as Power BI, QuickSight, or Looker
- Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or similar languages
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep) and DevOps automation tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on operational excellence and financial accountability
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, AZ-104, Google Cloud Engineer)
- Experience with multi-account chargeback/showback models and hybrid/container environments (VMware, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of enterprise billing, consolidated invoicing, and cloud governance best practices
