Job Title: DevOps Engineer

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Start Date: 26 January 2025

Location: United Kingdom (Hybrid/Remote options available)

Role Summary:

The DevOps Engineer will architect, maintain, and optimise hosting environments, CI/CD processes, and monitoring systems. The role ensures seamless deployments, strong security posture, and high service reliability as application usage and hosting capacities expand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for modern application delivery.
  • Oversee cloud hosting, server administration, and infrastructure configuration.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging frameworks.
  • Ensure system security and enforce best practice controls.
  • Automate infrastructure workflows to optimise deployment cycles.
  • Support incident response, disaster recovery, and uptime management.
  • Conduct performance tuning and scalability planning.
  • Work cross-functionally with product and development teams.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or comparable cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Linux/Unix systems administration and network fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity and secure deployment.
  • Experience supporting high-traffic hosted applications.

Desired Skills:

  • Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Cost optimisation and scalability strategy experience.
  • Monitoring/observability platforms.
  • Scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
