A fast‑growing digital product organization is launching a brand‑new, cloud‑native platform—and we’re looking for a Senior Database Platform Engineer to design and own the entire database ecosystem powering next‑gen mobile and web experiences.
This is not a traditional DBA role. You’ll architect, engineer, and optimize a brand-new Postgres environment while shaping data foundations used across dozens of business units and millions of users.
What You’ll Do
- Design & build a new Postgres database from scratch—schema design, data modeling, indexing, performance engineering.
- Own platform reliability across SQL Server and cloud-native databases.
- Implement replication, HA/DR, real-time streaming, and observability.
- Drive data security, governance, lineage, and compliance standards.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and DevOps to define enterprise-level patterns, automation, and best practices.
- Shape the long-term data platform strategy for a major digital transformation initiative.
What You Bring
- Deep expertise in Postgres + SQL Server performance tuning and architecture.
- Strong experience with cloud-native databases (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Proven background in data modeling, schema design, replication, and platform engineering.
- Experience with iPaaS concepts, integration patterns, streaming pipelines, and modern data observability.
- A builder’s mindset—pragmatic, collaborative, and energized by greenfield work.
